MR. WONDERDUCK'S HUNTING SECRETS TO DUCK HUNTING

  1. No Large Rotating Wings! Large rotating wings will get a duck's attention at a distance; however they also create a strobe light effect that will flare ducks close in! That is why many duck hunters today use a remote to turn their motion decoys off.

  2. No Pole Mounted Decoys! Wonderduck makes the best pole mounted motion decoy on the market today. It can be used with either rotating or offset rotating wings, runs up to 30 hours or more on one D-cell battery and comes with a Limited and Extended Warranty and a Life Time Repair Guarantee. However, stationary pole mounted motion decoys are unnatural to ducks and under certain hunting conditions, will flare ducks close in.

  3. No Stationary Decoys! Hunters have hunted with stationary decoys for hundreds of years. Ducks know the difference between decoys and ducks. If you want to consistently kill more ducks, hunt with motion decoys only! Wonderduck Paddle Wheel, Wonderduck's most popular decoy, gives you wing motion, water motion and decoy motion all at the same time.

  4. Use Offset Rotating Wings! Wonderduck's New Offset Rotating Wings works five to ten times better than conventional rotating wings. They create a natural FLAPPING WING MOTION that I personally guarantee WILL NOT FLARE DUCKS CLOSE IN! They are also easier to use. After hunting, loosen the plastic set screw at the base of the wing and fold wings to the rear of decoy. To hunt, loosen set screw and set wings in desired position. This eliminates the necessity of taking wings on and off before and after hunting.

  5. Use Solid Black Offset Rotating Wings! The purpose of Wing Motion is to simply get a duck's attention at a distance! Because of the up and down motion of offset rotating wings, they create more motion than conventional rotating wings. Both black and white and solid white rotating wings will get a duck's attention at distance; however when ducks get in close, solid BLACK OFFSET Rotating Wings will not flare ducks close in.

Offset Rotating Wings are nothing more than offsetting the base of the decoy's wings 1 ¼" from each motor shaft. At the base of each wing is a plastic set screw that allows you to set the angle of the wings any angle desired. Different wing angles create different wing motions. The greater the angle, the greater the motion created. For best results, when using Wonderduck Paddle Wheel, bring the offset wing inward (not outward) toward the motor shaft and then past the motor shaft, until the tip of the wing is almost touching the water. This will allow the wing tip to go from the surface of the water to above the decoy and back down again, creating the perfect illusion of flapping wings. It's the same principle as putting a pencil between your fingers and wiggling the pencil up and down. It creates the illusion the pencil is bending. The same principle applies to the illusion of Wonderduck's Offset Rotating Wings. They create the illusion of flapping wings. Wonderduck's Paddle Wheel can be used with offset rotating wings only, paddling feet only, or offset wings and paddling feet together at the same time. When using Wonderduck on a pole, it can be used with single offset rotating wings, or for maximum visibility, dual offset rotating wings (2 wings on each side of the decoy) in a windmill configuration. For use of Offset Rotating Wings or Paddling Feet please view instructional DVD.

When duck hunting, Mr. Wonderduck never uses stationary or pole mounted motion decoys. If the wind is blowing and the water is choppy, I hunt with six or seven Wonderduck Paddle Wheels, all with solid black offset rotating (flapping) wings, on the water. If the water is calm, I usually put out two to three Wonderducks, with black offset flapping wings and three to four Wonderduck Paddle Wheels, with orange or black paddling feet (without wings). If hunting a small pocket, I normally use four Wonderduck Paddle Wheels, one with black flapping wings and two to three with rotating paddles or paddling feet. If the water is absolutely calm and the ducks are extremely wary, I use two to four Wonderducks with solid black rotating paddles only.
